LYNHARI PERFORMING ARTS

""Lyhnari" is the Greek word for lamp. It has deep symbolic meaning going back into antiquity. In our community, our performing arts and cultural group promotes our heritage through theatre, literature, music, visual arts, traditional and folklore dance.

IDionysos Dancers of the Hellenic Canadian Community of Edmonton and Region was established in 1982 and has been an integral part of our Greek culture performing at festivals and events throughout Canada.

With more than ten thousand different dances on the go, the importance and celebration of the idea of community in all phases of life is being highlighted. Every dance is a new opportunity, one more invitation, for a gathering where the past meets with the present and the future, on the dance floor.
