4: Dances of the World – Our Hosted Showcase
The Hellenic-Canadian Community of Edmonton and Region proudly hosted “4: Dances of the World” on December 6th, 2024, an inspiring evening celebrating cultural diversity and the strength of women. Dionysos Dancers were thrilled to perform and showcase Greek traditions alongside other cultural groups.

The evening featured performances from:
-
Ballet Mexico Lindo
-
Shivamanohari School of Performing Arts
-
Shang de Tai Chi Praying Mantis
-
Dionysos Dancers

The event brought together dance, music, and storytelling from Mexico, India, China, and Greece, creating a vibrant multicultural experience. Coinciding with Canada’s National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, it served as both a celebration of culture and a call for gender equality and social justice.

Supported by local sponsors, community leaders, and politicians, and made possible with a grant to support the cause, the evening featured a speech by the Mayor of Edmonton and a moving address from a survivor. This remarkable event highlighted the community’s dedication to cultural preservation, inclusivity, and empowerment through the arts.
